Poetry Anthology Cover Assignment !

This is my poetry cover, I used pictures off the internet, combined and filtered them to make it complete. I used many different filters including posterize and poster edges. I then distorted the writing to make it flow better along with the rest of the theme. The writing didn't look right when it was straight across, I found it adds to the look. I like the look of my final piece, but it is quit simple and not very artistic. If I were to do it again, I would probably make some of my own artwork to add.

This is my multicultural poster. I took images from the internet but i filtered the kids.i used posterized edges. It was hard to change it a lot without them looking distorted.

Zebra Face Overlay !

I used a zebra print for my facial overlay. I used 2 layers because mine was quite simple. My first layer was my original picture that I took from facebook because I decided not to take a picture. After adding the second layer, which was the zebra print, i dropped its opacity all the way down to 9%. After that, I erased the zebra from the eyes and my lips and tried to liquefy distort the nose and chin so that it looked more 3D and realistic. Overall i dont mind the finished look but I could have added lots more detailing if I had more time.

Surrealism !

 In my surrealistic picture, I used a tornado storm sky for the background and a canyon cliff as the foreground land image.In the background behind the cliff into the sky you can see my clock. I took this picture and dropped the opacity then placed it behind the cliff to blend into the picture. Instead of using a regular egg i chose to do a chocolate kinder surprise egg with a clock inside as the surprise. The race car is used on the canyon because i thought the lines on the rock looked like a road. I used a finish line for my horizontal piece instead of a lamp post object. All together I do not like the overall outcome of this picture. I feel like it is all over the place and does not have a specific story or meaning .

Pop Art !

These are my pop art faces. I used primary colours in the bottom version, complimentary in the middle, and random pretty colours in top version.
As my picture is very simple I tried to jazz it up by using bright colours that somewhat contrast. My favourite is the bottom one with the blue red and yellow colours because they contrast very well and show the features of my face. My least favourite is the top picture because I felt I rushed it and the colour choices weren't the best. The purple in the background is a little bland and doesn't work very well with the hair colour. Overall Im not so happy with my pictures and believe if I spend more time I could have done a lot better.

Advent poster !

I took a picture with a camera of the scenery setup in class. I used 'fresco' filter to make it look the way it does. I also added a lens flare in the top right corner to add a glowing affect. Then i made green boxes behind the main words(keeping christ in christmas). i changed the opacity behind the boxes so that it wasn't to over-powering. I then added the WCDSB sign. I took all the white colouring from behind the logo and added a white box on another layer. I changed the opacity on the layer with the white box. For my bible passage i used Luke1:35. I made 2 layers for this , one in green , and one in white. I over-lapped these layers to make it look like a shadow.

Luke 1:35And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy–the Son of God.
