Black and White images ! Second image

before
I took this image of a pink lock on a locker. I then cropped and changed it to black and white. The focal point is the lock itself. I used the poster edges effect and made it look like a cartoon.

  1. Jill, this is a very effective image and you have provided a very basic explanation of the process. What I'd like you to develop is the skill of justifying the image. How is a lock the quintessential icon for high school. it is the first time kids have had lockers. the combination is unique to that individual and thus represents individual identity. It is your only private space in the school, in life in general? it represents the many barriers that need to be overcome to open doors to your future? Get it? To be "art" the photo had to be about more than just what it factually is. The needs to be symbolic depth of meaning and you, as the artist, need to be able to verbalize that meaning.
